This new one year course is designed to provide students with an introduction to Creative Writing. Students will research existing local literary talents and local history as a resource for writing. While North Kerrys cultural and literal history provide the foundation for the course, the skills learned will have universal application.

Entry Requirements

Applicants should have passed the Leaving Certificate. Entry requirements will be waived for mature students who have a flair/interest in writing. Applicants will be interviewed.

Work Experience Module

In appropriate setting e.g. literary centres, theatres, art centres etc.

Employment Opportunities

Pursue employment in area of interest.

Further studies

Holders of FETAC Level 5 may be eligible to progress to the relevant third-level programmes at ITT and other third-level colleges under the Higher Education Links scheme.

Course Fees

No tuition fees. Students may qualify for grants from their local VEC. Registration and examination fees will apply.
